Australian thriller inspired by ‘Mumbai terrorist attack’ launches campaign

On the sixth anniversary of the Mumbai terrorist attacks, New Realms Films’ Australian independent feature ‘One Less God’ launches its Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.

‘One Less God’, a psychological thriller inspired by the tragic terrorist attacks in Mumbai, was filmed on location in Nepal, the Blue Mountains, Sydney and the Central Coast of New South Wales.

On November 26, 2008 ten militants from the Islamic fundamentalist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, attacked multiple targets in Mumbai; their primary target, the iconic Taj Mahal hotel. The attacks in Mumbai not only rocked the entire Indian nation, but the tragedy reverberated around the globe.

The world watched in horror as the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists orchestrated a coordinated massacre of innocent people from over 26 nations in the longest terrorist attack in modern history, lasting a harrowing 72 hours.

‘One Less God’ is a multi-protagonist story filmed in English, Hindi and French, and aims to reach a global community, exploring and challenging the dangers of letting religious ideology separate us from compassion.

‘When Islamic fundamentalists besiege an Indian hotel, the guests battle to escape the systematic extermination and their own conflicting ideologies.’

The diverse ensemble cast includes Nathan Kaye (Muriel’s Wedding), Nicole Fantl (Star Wars II, Queen of the Damned), SukhRaj Deepak (Happy Feet, Bachna Eih Haseenah), Kabir Singh (Eli Was Here,Circle of Lies), as well as feature film debuts by Joseph Mahler Taylor, Kieran Kumar and 8 year old Mihika Rao.

Having completed principal photography, the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign aims to raise USD$200,000 needed to finish post production on One Less God and prepare the film for a worldwide cinematic release.
