Skype on ‘Skywalk’ at Sydney Tower Eye

Sydney Tower Eye rejoiced in the magic of Christmas turning ‘Skywalk’  into a digital Christmas hub.

With the launch of Skype on ‘Skywalk’, an all-new sky high Skype experience visitors can stay connected with their loved ones worldwide throughout the festive season, whilst sharing magical 360 degree panoramic views of Sydney, stretching 80km in all directions.

With the help of Santa and his tech-savvy Elves, a lucky ‘Skywalk’ guest was the first person to skype her parents back home in the UK sending Christmas greetings and presenting the best views of Sydney from Sydney Tower Eye.

Open to the public from today until Christmas Eve and operating twice daily at 12pm and 8pm, ‘Skywalk’ guests will be able to make free Skype video calls to family and friends around the world this Christmas season.

“Whilst perched outside the iconic golden turret of Sydney Tower, our new Skype on ‘Skywalk’ experience unites families and friends so they don’t feel so far away from home at Christmas time – all whilst sharing the unparalleled perspective of our incredible harbour city,” said Sydney Tower Eye General Manager Ian Wood.

“As Sydney’s highest viewing platform, we feel privileged to welcome thousands of international and domestic visitors each year. This festive season, we’re putting our ‘Skywalk’ guests on the “nice list” and giving everyone the gift of staying in touch with loved ones around the world,” said  Wood.

Guests who purchase a Skype on ‘Skywalk’ tour will also receive entry to Santa’s Highest Grotto at the top the Sydney Tower Eye’s Observation Deck – a Christmas wonderland 250 metres above street level.

Children and parents are invited to share their Christmas wishes with Santa as they’re transported to his festive grotto complete with a fireplace, festive music and a Christmas tree. Along with Christmas festivities, visitors to Sydney Tower Eye will have the opportunity to capture their magical visit with a free Santa photo for all kids.

Whether it’s capturing a festive family photo at Santa’s Highest Grotto, or staying in touch with loved ones on the all-new Skype on‘Skywalk’, there’s never been a better time to jingle all the way to Sydney Tower Eye.
